JACK ELLIS

Jack's theatre credits include: Jaggers in Great Expectations on tour and at The Vaudeville Theatre. Hastings in The Old Vic's production of Richard III starring Kevin Spacey. This production also toured internationally culminating in a successful run on Broadway. Jack is a founder member of ATC London, and has appeared in many of their productions all over the world including Don Quixote, The Provoked Wife, The Tempest and Measure For Measure. He has worked with the RSC in Hamlet, Cymbeline and Twelfth Night and at the Queen's Head Theatre in Much Ado About Nothing with Mark Rylance. For Bill Kenwright he played Mal in If I Were You, Charles in The Grass Is Greener and performed in the Agatha Christie Company's The Unexpected Guest. He played Colonel Jessep in A Few Good Men at The Haymarket Theatre and Leon Czolgosz in Assassins at the Donmar Warehouse, directed by Sam Mendes. In 2008 and 2010 he played Captain Hook at Windsor and Mansfield respectively.

Jack is probably best known for his portrayal of villainous prison warder Jim Fenner in the popular ITV television series Bad Girls in which he appeared in for seven series. He also played Harry Mason in Coronation Street. His most prominent television role was probably Detective Inspector Muddy in Prime Suspect, starring Helen Mirren for four series. Other television credits include: New Tricks, The Knock, House of Saddam, Rome, Lewis, Blue Murder, Sweet Medicine, Waking The Dead, The One That Got Away and Where The Heart Is.

Jack's film credits include: Outlaw directed by Nick Love, starring Danny Dyer and Sean Bean and It's Alive starring Michelle Philips.

Jack is currently working on a project with Le Groupe Acrobatique de Tanger.
